Halloween is a Saturday this year. Free discos in Over, a free trail at Wandlebury, Milton Country Park crafts for £4, and three pumpkin fields to 31 October.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, the last day of October half term, so most of what is on in South Cambridgeshire lands on 31 October itself or in the week before it. Very little of it is a scare event. It is mostly pumpkins, trails and children’s parties, and a fair amount is free.
The quick answer
- Halloween is Saturday 31 October 2026. Half term runs Monday 26 to Friday 30 October.
- Free: the Halloween Hunt trail at Wandlebury (17 October to 1 November; non-members pay to park), the family disco at Over Community Centre on 31 October, and entry to the pumpkin fields at Histon and Melbourn.
- Book now: the Milton Maze Pumpkin Patch (price rises as tickets sell), Halloween at the Waggon in Milton, Wimpole’s spooky story readings and Bamboo Sky’s Halloween domes in Bourn.
Every listing below was checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser’s own page or Visit South Cambs, South Cambridgeshire District Council’s own what’s-on listing.

Wimpole Estate, Arrington, SG8 0BW. Three Halloween things, all covered by normal admission, so free to National Trust members:
- Halloween in the House, daily to Sunday 1 November: a cobwebbed spider stairwell, a “frightful feast” in the dining room, a pumpkin patch in the Yellow Drawing Room and floating candles in the basement.
- Stranger Folk, 3 to 31 October: a folklore adventure you play on your phone through the Stranger Folk app, which sends you round the estate looking for the places where “the stranger folk are sneaking in”.
- Spooky story time for ages 4 to 8 in the Hall on Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29 October, 11.30am to noon. The National Trust lists this one as booking essential.

Getting there
Wandlebury, Wimpole and Milton Country Park all charge for parking or have limited spaces on busy days, and the Milton patch sits on the A10 Milton bypass. Our parking in South Cambs page explains the options, and the roadworks and travel page has the closures to check before you set off. Bonfire night follows a week later: our fireworks page has every confirmed display.
Still to be confirmed
- More village parties and church light parties. Halls and churches add Halloween events through October. This page is rechecked weekly until 31 October.
- Milton’s live ticket price, which rises in batches; check it at booking.
